Infosys opens Global Development Centre in Toronto

BANGALORE, FEB. 18. Infosys Technologies Ltd., crossed a key
milestone in its global expansion process with the inauguration
of the Global Development Centre (GDC) in Toronto, Canada. The
facility was inaugurated by Mr. Kieth Parsonage. Director-
General, Information and Communication Technologies, in the
presence of Mr. N.R.Narayana Murthy, Chairman and CEO of Infosys.
The Centre will initially employ 60 IT professionals.
Rated by Forbes as one of the 20 companies to watch in the new
Century, Infosys has become a world leader in providing IT
consulting services. With developnment centres and offices across
North America, Europe, Asia, Japan and Australia, Infosys is
known as India's most famous success story of the decade. It was
the first Indian company to be listed in NASDAQ.
Saponas visits Malleswaram KV
Dr. Timothy G. Saponas, President, Intel Foundation, and Ms. Pam
Graviet, Communications Manager, Intel Corporation, visited the
Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Malleswaram here on Friday. The
Principal, Mr. S.A.Nair, took the visitors around the school and
showed them a demonstration computer lesson on "Covalent Bonding"
arranged by Ms. Kamal Peter.
Intel award winners from the school, Ms. Anita Raj and Ms. Usha
Raghupathy, were felicitated in Delhi this week. Mr. Saponas
explained that the Intel project aimed to harness the power of
technology and make learning and teaching an enjoyable process.
LendSoft launched
For the first time in its 11-year-old history, Indus Software
Pvt. Ltd., with offices here, has created its first country-
centric products for the U.S. market called "LendSoft." This is
an integrated solution with end-to-end functionality that
addresses the complete life cycle of loans and leases. The first
version of LendSoft will focus on personal financing which
consists of collateral loans and personal loans.
LendSoft will integrate with credit databases, postal services,
automated clearing houses and national auto dealer databases. It
is web enabled and has a fast turnaround time. Indus plans to
sell the product through a number of business partners. It has
been successfuly tested and well received in the U.S. market.
New recruitment strategy
Thirdware Solution Ltd., one of India's leading e-business
providers, has launched its latest recruitment strategy called
"Building Thirdware Together". This programme gives employees of
an organisation an ideal opportunity to network and introduce
their friends to Thirdware. It enables Thirdware to get qualified
candidates who are aware of the working culture of the

Thirdware Solution recently launched its ASP services in
partnership with QAD Inc., Satyam Infoway and Citrix Software,
India. The company specialises in verticals such as consumer
products, food and beverages, electronics and automotive
products.
