Wellwin Ind.'s sales up
Wellwin Industry has reported higher turnover and profits in the
quarter ended December 31, 2000. Net sales were higher at Rs.
23.34 crores against Rs. 11.71 crores and the net profit, before
depreciation and taxation at Rs. 2.96 crores againt Rs. 2.21
crores. After providing Rs. 34.10 lakhs (Rs. 30.77 lakhs) for
depreciation and Rs. 25 lakhs (Rs. 20 lakhs) for taxation, the
net profit has increased to Rs. 2.37 crores from Rs. 1.71 crores.
Global e-Solutions
Global e-Solutions has registered a gross turnover of Rs. 6.10
crores for the quarter ended December 31, 2000 against Rs. 23.34
lakhs for the same period in the previous year. The net profit
has risen sharply to Rs. 1.40 crores from Rs. 5.55 lakhs.
For the half year ended December 31, 2000, gross sales were Rs.
11.35 crores and the net profit Rs. 2.72 crores.The company has
been expanding its operations in the Indian sub-continent and the
Pacific Rim has been retained by Telekom Malaysia, a leader in
telecommunication industry in Malaysia to develop and deliver
solutions on WAP and related services.
Dhandapani Finance
Dhandapani Finance has earned a gross income of Rs. 15.69 crores
for the nine months ended December 31, 2000 against Rs. 14.48
crores. The profit before depreciation was Rs. 7.12 crores
against Rs. 7.01 crores. The net profit was higher at Rs. 3.57
crores against Rs. 3.26 crores.
Deposits of the company stood at Rs. 11.89 crores as on December
31, 2000. The company enjoys the capital adequacy ratio of 27.01
per cent against 12 per cent prescribed by the RBI. In terms of
section 292A of The Companies (Amendment) Act 2000 an Audit
Committee was constituted, according to a company release.The
company has a strong presence in the south with 33 branches. Also
additional branches were recently opened in Andhra Pradesh and
the company is optimistic of achieving additional volume of
business through its new branches.
Maars Software
Maars Software has recorded net sales of Rs. 86.83 crores for the
year ended December 31, 2000 against Rs. 63.12 crores in the same
period in the previous year. Other income accounted for Rs. 1.65
crores (Rs. 2.91 crores). The net profit, after depreciation and
taxation has increased to Rs. 20.58 crores from Rs. 14.67 crores.
After providing Rs. 4.48 crores (Rs. 1.51 crores) for
depreciation and Rs. 1.85 lakhs (same) towards preliminary
expenses, the net profit is higher at Rs. 16.08 crores against
Rs. 13.02 crores. Taxation claimed Rs. 11.83 lakhs formerly. The
board has recommended a dividend of 18 per cent on equity capital
enlarged by the issue of bonus shares at the end of December 31,
1999.
Pentagon Global
Pentagon Global Solutions has reported a net profit of Rs. 2.32
crores for the quarter ended December 31, 2000 against Rs. 8.70
lakhs in the corresponding period in 1999-2000. Total income was
higher at Rs. 8.94 crores against Rs. 1.03 crores. The gross
profit, before depreciation and taxation has increased to Rs.
2.97 crores from Rs. 19.18 lakhs.
For the nine months ended December 31, 2000, the total income was
Rs. 29.67 crores against Rs. 3.49 crores, the net profit before
depreciation and taxation Rs. 9.25 crores against Rs. 59.58 lakhs
and the profit after tax Rs. 7.77 crores against Rs. 32.90 lakhs.
Linc Pen
Linc Pen & Plastics has achieved a growth of 62 per cent in its
net profit for the third quarter of the current financial year at
Rs. 81.17 lakhs against Rs. 50.17 lakhs in the corresponding
period in the previous year. For the nine months of the current
financial year, the turnover stood higher at Rs. 35 crores
against Rs. 18 crores and the profit before tax at Rs. 3.31
crores against Rs. 1.25 crores in the corresponding period in the
previous year.
