SC/ST case filed against 10 TDP men in Badvel

CUDDAPAH, FEB. 21. The Atlur police registered a case under the Atrocities Against SC/STs (Prevention) Act against 10 Telugu Desam Party functionaries on Wednesday on a complaint lodged by a group of Scheduled Castes voters of Atlur Harijanawada that they were prevented from casting votes in the Badvel Assembly constituency by these men belonging to the upper castes.

A case was registered against the former Atlur mandal president, Mr. B. Ramakrishna Reddy's sons, Mr. B. Sunil Kumar Reddy, Mr. B. Madhava Reddy, his brother, Mr. B. Rajagopala Reddy, and Mr. B. Jayakrishna Reddy, Mr. B. Venkataramana Reddy, Mr. B. Prathap Reddy and Mr. Jinka Sivaiah of Atlur, Mr. B. Venkata Narasaiah, Mr. B. Venkatesu and Mr. B. Veerasubbaiah of Gandlapalle village.

The Atlur police visited the Harijanawada and advised the aggrieved Dalits to meet the Mydukur DSP, Mr. Babu Rao, at Mydukur for conducting a comprehensive enquiry, the Dalits said, and added that they expressed lack of faith in the DSP. The Dalits demanded an enquiry either by the Additional SP, Mr. Iliyase Sait, or the Jammalamadugu ASP, Dr. S.B. Bagchi, or hand over the case to the CBCID.
