JCT to hive off fibre unit

MUMBAI: The board of directors of JCT will seek shareholders approval for hiving off the fibre unit of the company to its subsidiary at an extraordinary general meeting scheduled to be held on February 26. The proposal is a part of company's restructuring process.

FDC pact with Aspen Pharmacare

CHENNAI: The Rs. 150 crore pharmaceutical company, FDC, has signed a marketing tie up with Aspen Pharmacare, South Africa. FDC's manufacturing facilities and the marketing expertise of Aspen will help to get a substantial share of ophthalmic business in South Africa, according to a company release.

Fourth R's marketing plans

CHENNAI: The Fourth R India, an affiliate of Fourth R Inc. and engaged in children's computer education, is to tie up with over 100 schools this summer to conduct summer computer camp programmes. The school implementation division has already initiated tieups with various schools and the company estimates that over 20,000 children will benefit from this tieup, says a company release.

Indus Software launches LendSoft

CHENNAI: The Pune-based Indus Software has created its first country centric product - LendSoft - for the U.S. market. The first version focusses on personal financing which consists of collateral loans and personal loans. Indus plans to sell LendSoft through a number of business partners, says a company release.

Tie-up for game service

TOKYO: Japan's Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., Sega Corporation, and Namco have announced that they will join forces to launch a game distribution service via the Internet by the end of this year. The three game-equipment makers plan to expand the service across Japan during 2002.
