The 2000-2001 Economic Survey presented to Parliament today by the Finance Minister, Mr. Yashwant Sinha, called for ``full-steam ahead'' reforms including total privatisation of the public sector, reduction in interest on small savings, pension and provident funds, deregulation of the coal, petroleum and sugar industries, disbanding of the retention price system for fertilizers and ending the monopoly role of the Food Corporation of India.
