German held

VARANASI, FEB. 25. Police today detained a 38-year-old German national carrying a knife when he was entering into ``Vajra Vidya Sansthan'' in Sarnath, near here, where the Buddhist monk, Ugyen Trinley Dorji, was staying, according to sources here.

The police recovered from Mr. W. O. Lfeang Gerhard Frederichs a letter written in Tibetan language, the sources said.
