A bite with bytes

A MIND-BLOWING life amid the clattering sound of key boards in a computer lab and a boisterous life outside the classrooms and in the canteens where the spirits come alive, as if to soar high.

Well, the two contrasting aspects of a student life can never blend. Rather that's the popular notion. But here was an exercise that proved to be a hit. A mix of fun and frolic, academics and scholastic and creativity and skill.

The `BCA IT Meet' of Sri Sai College, Dilsukhnagar, that attracted more than a thousand students from various colleges in the city and as far as Kodad and Mahabubnagar was indeed the event where education and entertainment made a dash together.

The carnival like atmosphere made a perfect sense. The meet kicked off with a presentation of A.R. Rahman's `Vandemataram'. Patriotism was in full view as students of Sri Sai College used the opportunity to not only showcase their dancing prowess but also exhibit their love for Bharat desh.

After the visual delight, it was time to discuss about chips and bytes, discs and roms and languages and packages.

"It was quite an experience for them to listen to some of the best brains in IT industry and exchange views", pointed out Dr. P. Rajeshwar Reddy, Correspondent.

Dr. Dakshina Murthy Kolluru, Managing Director, Globarena, listed out the skills one needs to possess to achieve success in a global village. But the real test of their skills awaited them at `Debugging', `Jeeto Chappar Phaad Ke' and the `It Quiz' - the informal events, which were conceived by Sravanthi, Hareesha and Srikanth.
