AS THE mercury soars, it is time to switch to breathable cottons.
Cotton mela at Tarunee Loka, Habibulla Road, T. Nagar, (phone:

collection of saris from all over the country. Gadwal, Kanya,
Ikat, Mangalgiri, Poonga, Benarasi, Chanderi, Bengal and Poona
cottons, besides an exquisite range sourced from Madurai and
Coimbatore...the collection is impressive. Tie-and-dye, batik,
bandini, patola, kalamkari, khadi, jamewar, kasuti, vegetable-
dye, hand printed, block printed...the crafstmanship is a real
tribute to tradition. That's not all. There is a fresh collection
of Gadwal and jute silks and clothes for children. The range that
comes in eye-pleasing summer shades is priced Rs. 150 upwards and
part of the sale proceeds will go the Gujarat earthquake fund.
