Birla Sun launches insurance solutions

CHENNAI: Birla Sun Life Insurance Company (BSLICL) has formally launched the innovative range of Birla Sun Life Insurance solutions in Mumbai and Delhi. The insurance solutions are packaged under the Flexi umbrella brand and these solutions offer a world class package of flexibility, liquidity and transparency in life insurance. In the launch phase, the company has introduced three benefit plans - Flexi Save Plus Endowment, Flexi Cash Flow Money Back and Flexi Life Line Whole Life, BSLICL said in a release.

Hyderabad firm gets Naval order

HYDERABAD: Veljan Hydrair, a hydraulics and pneumatics company with three manufacturing plants around Hyderabad, has bagged a prestigious order for supply of steering gear and stabilizer equipment for India's first `stealth warship' being built by the Indian Navy. Mr. D. Madhavaiah, General Manager and Mr. P. S. Reddy, Marketing Head, said the order worth Rs. 25 crores was for three ship sets. The ships are armed to carry offensive as well as defensive missions.

CHENNAI: SBI Mutual Fund proposes to payout 6.5 per cent half- year dividend on the face value of unit under the Magnum LiquiBond Income Fund. The record date for dividend pay out has been fixed at March 16. No purchase or redemption request during the book closure period would be entertained and fresh purchases and repurchases would be available from March 20, according to a release.

Toshiba to shift TV production to China

BEIJING: Japanese electronics giant Toshiba Corp has decided to halt production of cathode-ray tube TV sets in Japan and transfer all the production facilities to China from the next month, the state media reported today. The decision aims at improving the production efficiency of TV sets - including digital TVs - in the face of intensified competition following growing imports of Analog TVs produced in Southeast Asian countries by Japanese manufacturers, Xinhua news agency quoted company officials as saying.
