Beighton Cup from tomorrow
KOLKATA, MARCH 24. Top hockey outfits from different parts of the
country, including reigning champions Punjab and Sind Bank, will
stake their claim for the prestigious 106th Servo-Beightion Cup
hockey championship to be held here from March 26 to April 9.
Secretary of the Bengal Hockey Association and former India
captain Gurubux Singh informed that beside 14 outstation teams
like Army Eleven, Border Security Force (BSF), South Central
Railway and Bangladesh Eleven consisting mostly of the national
players, 14 local teams would also take part in the meet
sponsored by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
Teams which would lead the local challenge include B N Railway,
CESC, Customs, Port Commissioners, Sai Eastern Centre and ERSA.
