Brainy CD

THE BOOK may still be king, but CDs do things they cannot. Which is why Satvat Infosol, the company behind Chennai's `crorepati' quiz CD, is rolling out ``Your Entrance to Success'', a disc that helps the student test himself.

The CD Rom contains a bank of model questions, and actual question papers from 1994 in Maths, Physical Sciences and Biology.

What is more, the programme makes it possible to either solve a particular year's question paper, or seek out all questions on a particular subject and choose what to answer.

Or take up one model paper, and answer 20 questions, setting oneself a deadline.

The CD offers the solutions for all Mathematics questions, including those of previous years, which is its strongpoint vis- a-vis rivals and online ventures.

It also tells the student how a particular answer has been worked out. ``Success'' hits the market on April 2 at Rs. 345.

Two more projects coming up from Satvat are, a 10th standard Geography CD with multimedia content for such things as the weather.

There is a glossary including pictures and video clips. It is the first of the ``Easy'' series, priced at Rs. 645, says Ms. Sunithi Ramesh, CEO of Satvat (Tel: 8228824).
