10 killed in Sri Lanka blast
By Nirupama Subramanian
COLOMBO, APRIL 1.About 10 people were killed and over 100 injured
in a blast at a stadium in central Sri Lanka on Sunday.
The incident took place in Kurunegala, at a football ground
packed to capacity for a music show.
Officials said the show, organised by a private television and
radio network, included two women singers from Bombay who were
reported to be unhurt.
The involvement of the LTTE in the incident has been ruled out.
The man who was carrying the explosive device is believed to have
been killed.
