'Arjun Singh behind Tehelka'
By Our Staff Correspondent
TUMKUR (KARNATAKA), APRIL 1. The Union Minister for Tourism and
Culture, Mr. Ananth Kumar, said the Congress leader, Mr. Arjun
Singh, was behind the tehelka exposure.
Addressing BJP workers at Bavikatte Kalyan Mantap here on Sunday,
he said the news portal had created an `awful' fiction under the
supervision of Mr. Singh. He accused the Congress leader of
hatching a conspiracy to gain political mileage for his party in
the wake of the forthcoming Assembly elections in five States.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders, including its
chairman and the Prime Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, and the
convenor, Mr. George Fernandes, would participate in the NDA
convention in Bangalore on April 5. ``The Congress cannot fool
the people. Its nefarious designs will be exposed very soon.''
Referring to the Exim policy, Mr. Kumar said the import of
foodgrains would not affect local markets as the Centre had
decided to impose import duty up to 85 per cent. Urging the party
workers to counter the Congress charges in this regard, he said
the Government was blaming the Centre for its lapses and was
attempting to politicise development projects.
Mr. S. Shivanna, MLA, Mr. Gaikwad, president, BJP Tumkur, Mr.
Nandish, yuva morcha leader, and Mr. B.C. Nagesh Babu, and Mr.
Rudresh, general secretaries, were present.
