Alleged plot to kill Ranil

COLOMBO, APRIL 6. An alleged plot to assassinate the Opposition leader, Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe, was revealed after a woman LTTE cadre told the police that she had been asked to meet a certain ``Ranil'' at a public meeting in central Anuradhapura.

Media reports said the alleged plot was revealed by a 15-year-old girl who was held in Trincomalee and brought to Colombo for questioning.
