SHV, top parallel marketer of LPG

HYDERABAD, APRIL 6. The Dutch multinational SHV Energy (Super Gas) has emerged as the top multinational parallel marketer in the industrial, domestic and commercial segments of LPG in India, according to Mr. Ajay K. Sahoo, Vice-President, and Mr. Witold Urbanowski, Head, Sales and Marketing, SHV Energy South East.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, they said SHV which entered India in 1996 has so far invested Rs. 600 crores, and now has a Rs. 200 crore turnover and four lakh consumers. The leadership was established on the basis of tonnage handled which was 75,000 tonnes LPG , and the number of domestic, commercial and industrial installations. The company is encouraged by the Government's initiatives in auto gas segment. Super Gas is ready to meet the Government and work together with them in understanding the sector better and formulating policies and technical standards, he said.

Established in 1896, SHV operates liquefied gas companies in 23 countries and is the largest player with annual distribution of seven million tonnes.
