15 killed in Bihar

PATNA, APRIL 19. At least 15 persons, including three candidates
and a magistrate, were killed and over 36 injured in violence-
marred third phase of panchayat elections in Bihar which
witnessed a voter turnout of over 65 per cent.
Government officials, however, put the poll-related deaths at
seven. Three candidates contesting for the post of mukhiya were
killed in panchayats falling under Samistanpur, Bhojpur and
Rohtas districts, while a patrolling magistrate, Mr. Rajbansh
Singh, was killed at Telwa village under Simultana police station
limits.
