Modern lighting for entire city, says Minister

HYDERABAD, APRIL 19. The Minister for Information and Public
Relations, Dr. N. Sivaprasad has said the entire city will be lit
with modern lighting at a cost of Rs. 20 crores. In addition, a
sum of Rs. 10 crores will be spent on lighting in the slum areas.
He was speaking to presspersons after inaugurating a modern
lighting system costing about Rs. 6 lakhs on the stretch from the
Mint Compound leading to the junction of NTR Marg and Necklace
Road here on this evening.
The MCH Commissioner, Dr. P.K. Mohanty, said the Phillips bulbs
not only ensure better lighting but also save power consumption
by about 25 per cent.
Later, the Minister inaugurated a lighting system costing Rs. 1.5
lakhs at the Basheerbagh junction near the statue of the late
Home Minister, A. Madhava Reddy.
