More CNG outlets soon

NEW DELHI, APRIL 19.

As many as 12 more CNG retail outlets will be opened in the National Capital during 2001-02, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

During the next financial year, opening of CNG outlets in the city will depend on demand, the Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mr.Santosh Gangwar, said in a written reply.

The installed capacity and supply of CNG in Delhi was 2,00,000 kg as on April 14, as against the demand of 1,20,000 kg per day, the Minister said.

The Government has launched a new electronic guidance system to guide tourists at Red Fort, the Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Mr.Ananth Kumar, said.

The 'handy audio reach kit' (HARK) is based on advanced technology and provides automated bi-lingual description of various parts of the monument to the tourist on headphone, he said.

The government proposes to launch the system, costing Rs. 2,22,500, at other historical monuments, including Qutab Minar and Humayun's Tomb, Mr.Kumar said.

In Delhi, 166 monuments and sites have been declared as of national importance, the Minister said.

As many as 4086 households, spread over 16 localities in the National Capital, have been already connected with gas distribution project, Mr.Gangwar said.

The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies has issued notices to former Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Directors and Deputy General Manager of Super Bazar inconnection with cases of fraud, the Minister of State for Agriculture, Mr. Shripad Naik said.

The Central Registrar would take appropriate decisions on these notices.

The ASI has started a separate wing for marine archaeology in New Delhi, Mr. Ananth Kumar said.
