launched by the local people demanding the shifting of the Tamil
refugees from Sri Lanka settled here a few years ago, to some
other area.
The situation has become tense since Thursday last when a group
of Sri Lankan refugees allegedly attacked some local people,
police said.
Police have registered two criminal cases against 31 refugees
under several sections of IPC. So far, four Sri Lankan Tamils,
including the leader of the Tamil camp, Mr. Prabakar, have been
arrested. The rest are absconding.
The launching of the agitation by the local people has caused
panic among 100 Tamil settlers living in the area. Tamil camp
