AGSP announces list and manifesto
Guwahati, April 22. (PTI): The Asom Gana Sangram Parishad (AGSP)
today announced a list of 28 candidates and released the party
manifesto in which it pledged to bring complete peace in Assam.
"The AGSP will announce a ceasefire with the militants and
suspend the operations of the unified command," party president
Jatindra Borgohain told reporters here.
The AGSP will also make efforts to stop all kinds of killings in
the State, end violence and ensure that permanent peace was
restored. He said the party if voted to power will take strict
measures to stop illegal migration.
The prominent contestants are: Dilip Sarkar from Bongaigaon,
Kamleshwar Medhi from Sarukhetri, Satyabrata Kalita from
Kamalpur, Hiranya Choudhury from Rangiya, Prabin Deka from
Kalaigaon, Jayanta Kumar Barua from Tezpur, Lakhikanta Mahanta
from Morigaon and Minu Bora from Batdrava.
