BANGALORE, APRIL 23. Three Indian Air Force personnel including a Flying Officer allegedly assaulted an autorickshaw driver following an altercation on Sunday night.

According to police, six IAF personnel asked an autorickshaw driver to take them to Jalahalli from M.G. Road at 10 p.m. When the autorickshaw driver, Mr. Nagaraj, said he could not take more than three passengers, three of the Air Force personnel engaged the autorickshaw.

When the vehicle reached the Sadashivanagar junction, a quarrel broke out between Mr. Nagaraj and the passengers, and they allegedly tore the tarpaulin roof of the vehicle, and assaulted Mr. Nagaraj.

Even as he was shouting for help, a police team rushed to the spot and apprehended one of the three IAF personnel -- Mr. R.N. Bhat, a Flying Officer.

Mr. Bhat was handed over to the Military Police. A case was registered with Sadashivanagar police and later transferred to the Military Police.

Nataraj and his sisters reportedly made death threats against Yella Devi, and threatened to kill her baby who is eight months old. She has left Nataraj's house and is living in her mother's house.

The Mahadevapura police have registered a case.
