Complaint made on seven occasions remains unresolved
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, MAY 2. Is the "Face-to-Face Programme", that consumes
precious time of officials and Ministers, worth it, if a problem
is not solved despite being brought to the notice seven times?
This was the question raised by Mr. Chandrudu from Jeera,
Secunderabad, during the city administration's programme on
Wednesday.
He had complained about a road encroachment in his area seven
times till now on the programme which is telecast live on the
City cable networks. However, he said he got only hollow promises
and no action. Even the Ministers had assured him that action
would be taken soon but that did not come.
The matter was also brought to the notice of the Collector
personally, but failed to result in any action. However, the
officials contended that a case was filed against the encroachers
and the matter was in the court. But, Mr. Chandrudu argued that
no such case was filed and demanded the case number for
verification. An embarrassed Minister for Labour, Mr. Krishna
Yadav, said he would personally visit the area tomorrow itself
along with the officials.
Apart from this, the programme was flooded with general
complaints like bad roads, parking on the roads leading to heavy
traffic congestion, illegal constructions, absence of
streetlights and non-issue of pattas.
One Mr. Shiv Kumar from Nallakunta said complained of heavy
traffic congestion at the Fever Hospital bridge and at
Vidyanagar. Mr. Satyanarayana from Domalguda suggested that a
traffic constable be posted at Domalguda Nursing Home to ease
heavy traffic there.
The Joint Commissioner (Coordination), Mr. S.R. Tiwari, said the
concerned Assistant Commissioner of Police would be asked to look
into the issue. The Telephone Department officials were so
complacent that they do not even issue duplicate bills and make
the customers run from pillar to post, said one Mr. Raghavendra.
He wanted the officials to respond to the people's complaints and
not irritate them.
Mr. Narsing from Musheerabad requested pattas for them. Though
they were living in that place for the last 52 years and paying
water and power bills, the pattas were not issued, he said.
