The Sportstar's tribute to Walsh

CHENNAI, MAY 3. One of the best loved sportspersons of our times, West Indian fast bowler Courtney Walsh, brought the curtains down on a remarkably long and successful career at the Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, recently.

Test cricket's highest wicket taker with a tally of 519, Walsh said goodbye in style as he starred in West Indies' victory over South Africa in the last Test of the series.

Now, The Sportstar, a sister publication of The Hindu and India's top English language sports weekly, has geared up to say goodbye to the great champion fast bowler.

The Sportstar's issue dated May 12, featuring Walsh on the cover, carries a comprehensive special section on the West Indian legend, running to over 35 pages.

Apart from a cover story celebrating the many virtues of the great bowler, the special section features an array of articles, including tributes from regular columnists, and a statistical summary of Walsh's career.
