Three friends and a baby

``SATYARAJ IS a multi-millionaire. His two friends are Vadivelu and Ramesh Kanna. Sathyaraj's uncle is Manivannan who wants his nephew to get married. His friends however feel marriage will be the end of their happy days and try to scuttle the plan. Do they succeed? ``Asathal,'' produced by Rajaram has this as the storyline. P. Vasu is the director.

Satyaraj is happy about the film. He says that the film is a breezy comedy with a happy ending. ``I am sure that the film will be liked by the public. There is a baby which will make an impression. Those of my films in which a child has figured, for instance ``Poovizhi Vasalile'' have become hits. I am sure that this film will also be a box-office success''.Vadivelu became nostalgic. The parrot fortune-teller outside the AVM studios (where a scene for this film was shot) was the man who predicted ten years ago that Vadivelu would become a movie star. ``The day after I spoke to this man I got an assignment and was acting in my first film ``En Thangai Kalyani'' directed by T. Rajender.'' Director Vasu says the child in the film makes all the three friends get married and settle down. ``The child is a five-month old baby. How can it act? You must see it to believe it. The highlight of the film is a scene wherein the child goes round the city on the roof of a bus,'' he adds.

Ajay Ratnam, `Mahanadhi' Shanker, Ramya Krishnan, Swathi, Bobilona, Kalavathi and baby Sabhi are in the cast. The music is scored by Bharadwaj. Editing is done by Mohanraj. Stunt is by `Vikram' Dharma, lyrics by Gangai Amaran and the story, screenplay, dialogue and direction are by P. Vasu.
