Dibrugarh bandh hits life
Dibrugarh, May 3. Normal life was totally affected in Dibrugarh
district today in the 24-hour bandh called by All- Assam
Students' Union (AASU) in protest against the killing of BJP
candidate Jayanta Dutta and five others.
There was no report of any incident from any part of the district
till 2.30 p.m. with security beefed up in Dibrugarh and its
neighbouring districts following the incident, official sources
said.
Patrolling has been intensified and strict vigil is being
maintained as Governor Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha today visited
Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts to review the law and order
situation there following the Tuesday night's killing, official
sources said.
