Pak. rejects PM's charge

By Our Special Correspondent

ISLAMABAD, MAY 8. Pakistan today dismissed as `baseless' the charges levelled by the Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, that its Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) was involved in a plot to kill the Tehelka.com chief executive, Mr. Tarun Tejpal.

In response to a question at a press meet, spokesman of the Pakistan Foreign Office said that Pakistan had forcefully rejected such allegations by India. ``The charges are baseless', he said.

The Prime Minister told journalists at Thiruvananthapuram on Monday that the ISI plot to kill Mr. Tejpal could be part of a larger conspiracy to destabilise the Government and create disturbances. ``I am inclined to think so'', was the comment of Mr. Vajpayee.
