Forex reserves up $128 m
MUMBAI, MAY 12. Foreign currency reserves, went up again with a
rise of $128 million to $42.79 billion for the week ended may 4
after last week's decline.
The foreign currency assets (FCAs) swelled to $40.08 billion, up
$158 million in reporting week, according to the Reserve Bank of
India's weekly statistical supplement here today.
However, gold reserves fell by $30 million to $2.70 billion, it
said. The foreign currency assets expressed in dollar terms
include the effect of appreciation/depreciation of non-
U. S currencies such as Euro, sterling and yen. Special drawing
rights remained unchanged at $10 million.
