BJP assures Samata on support to Koijam

NEW DELHI, MAY 15. The Samata Party today got a categorical
assurance from the top Bharatiya Janata Party leadership on the
continuation of support to the Manipur Chief Minister, Mr. Radha
Binod Koijam, of the Samata, who was facing dissidence from
constituents of his coalition government.
The assurance was given to a delegation of Samata leaders
comprising the president, Mr. V. V. Krishna Rao, Mr. George
Fernandes, Ms. Jaya Jaitly and the general secretary, Dr. Shambhu
Shrivastava, which met the BJP president, Mr. K. Jana
Krishnamurthy, and the general secretary, Mr. Narendra Modi,
here.
Mr. Koijam, who heads the 13-member Samata Party in the State
Assembly, leads the People's Front coalition government which
enjoys support of the BJP, the Manipur State Congress Party), the
Federal Party and the Nationalist Congress Party among others.
