Yamaha not to sell Chinese made motorcycles
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, MAY 15. Yamaha Motors Escorts, which has two
manufacturing units in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, has no plans to
sell Chinese made Yamaha motorcycles in India, according to Mr.
Ajaysingh Raghuvanshi, Zonal Manager, South.
Mr. Raghuvanshi clarified this in reply to a question, while
addressing a press conference here on Tuesday to announce the
`relaunch' of the RX 135 motorcycle. The company is now running
advertisements assuring customers that there will be no import of
Yamaha motorcycles from the parent company's plant in China, and
termed such talk as rumours. He also pointed out that China and
several Asian countries had different emission norms.
In India, the company has three models of four stroke bikes,
besides the Rajdoot. Now it has come out with the four speed
version of RX 135 which also meets the India 2000 emission norms.
