Lord Hanuman statue unveiled at Ammakkapeta village
By Our Staff Reporter
KARIMNAGAR, MAY 20. The Minister for Endowments, Mr D
Sivaramaraju, unveiled the 36-foot statue of Lord Hanuman on the
picturesque hillocks of Ammakkapeta village of Ibrahimpatnam
mandal on Sunday.
This statue of Lord Hanuman was constructed by the sculptor, Mr
Venkat of Visakhapatnam, at a cost of Rs 5 lakhs with the
financial assistance of local philanthropists and villagers. The
Lok Sabha Speaker, Mr G.M.C. Balayogi, the Union Minister of
State for Home Affairs, Mr Ch Vidyasagar Rao, the Metpally
legislator, Mr T Venkataramana Reddy, and the Nerella legislator,
Mr Suddala Devaiah, offered prayers to the deity.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr D Sivaramaraju called upon the
people to protect endowments lands which were being occupied by
land grabbers at various places. He also urged the legislators to
check grabbing of endowments lands in their constituencies.
The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr Ch Vidyasagar
Rao, said they would conserve each and every drop of rainwater in
the region and grow vegetation on the hillocks to transform the
temple into a tourist resort.
Earlier, the dignitaries visited Bandalingapur village of
Ibrahimpatnam mandal to lay foundation stone for the construction
of houses for the weaker sections. Under this innovative housing
scheme, 75 houses would be built with all amenities such as
roads, lighting, drinking water, drainage system etc. This scheme
is taken up under 100 per cent subsidy scheme by the Central
Government.
In the wake of naxalites blasting an MRO office building in
Medipally mandal headquarters in the sub-division, the police had
made elaborate bandobust for the whirlwind tour of the Lok Sabha
Speaker, Mr Balayogi, the Union Minister, the State Minister and
other dignitaries. The Superintendent of Police, Mr Nalin
Prabhat, personally supervised the security arrangements along
with the Additional SP (OSD), Mr N Madhusudhan Reddy.
