Industrial 'green park' planned near Jadcherla
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD, MAY 23. About 1,000 acres would be set apart for an
industrial ``green park'' near Jadcherla in Mahbubnagar district,
while officials would invite those investing in industries having
a capital base of less than Rs 100 crores and assist them from
time to time. These decisions were taken at a meeting of the
State Investment Promotion Board, presided over by the Chief
Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, here today.
According to a press note, the Chief Minister said that senior
officials would be designated as ``escort officers'' to assist
investors in respect of projects costing more than Rs 100 crores,
to obtain necessary Government clearances by liaising with
various departments.
The proposed green park near Jadcherla should be a role model for
other industrial estates, because of its proximity to the
international airport coming up at Shamshabad, the Chief Minister
said.
The Chief Minister said that captive power generation would be
allowed to all industrial units in the State. Government would
extend by a further period of two years, the sales tax incentives
for mega projects in the pipeline.
A total of 19 mega projects with an investment of Rs 6,182 crores
had gone into production since 1991, while 16 projects with an
investment of Rs 5,028 crores were under implementation, while 32
projects costing Rs 42,588 crores were in the initial stages.
The press note said that as on April 30 this year, 4,130 new
proposals for setting up industries with an investment of Rs
1,46,319 crores, with an employment potential of 6,43,715 persons
were received in the State. Of these, 1,743 projects, with an
investment of Rs 17,579 crores, providing employment to 2,46,143
persons had gone into production.
The Minister for Major Industries, Mr K. Vidyadhar Rao, the
Minister for Energy, Mr K.Subbarayudu, the Chief Secretary in
charge, Mr K.Swaminathan, the Principal Secretary (Industries)
Mr. T. Gopal Rao, the Principal Secretary (Revenue), Mr A.V.S.
Reddy and the Principal Secretary (Energy), Mr V.S. Sampath, were
among those attended the review.
