By Our Staff Reporter
KOCHI, MAY 26. Two persons were reportedly killed today following
a fire in a Navy ship docked at the Cochin Shipyard. The two, who
were admitted to the naval hospital, INS Sanjeevani, reportedly
died of suffocation. The fire is said to have occurred in the
laundry section.
Police said the fire broke out at around 2.00 p.m. on INS Amba,
which was anchored for routine repairs. Fire tenders of the Navy,
the Shipyard and the Fire Force brought the fire under control by
around 6.30 p.m. A spokesman said INS Amba had come from Mumbai
for a refit. The victims were Mr. Jadhav and Mr. Venakatrao, both
