Notification for for DCS-2001 on June 15

HYDERABAD, MAY 31. The Minister for School Education, Mr.K.Srihari, here on Thursday said that the notification for DCS-2001 would appear on June 15 and applications would be accepted till July 27. The examinations would be held on August 26 and results would be announced on September 20. Counselling and posting would take place between September 25 and 30.

Addressing presspersons, the Minister said meanwhile the education committees of the gram panchayats could go ahead and appoint `Vidya Volunteers' from June 12 when the schools reopen.

The DSC-2001 would recruit 32,129 teachers out of which 21,705 were posts that were newly being created. The rest included those that were being created due to upgradation and filling up of backlog posts. The Government would view the case of STs' and SCs' (girls only) with sympathy, and in the absence of trained candidates, those without training might be considered for recruitment, he said.

A minimum of 200 Urdu medium schools would be opened but there was a provision for about 500, he said. In view of the demand of physically challenged persons, the Government was making a provision for 3 per cent reservation for them, he said.
