10 killed in church blast

DHAKA, JUNE 3. At least 10 persons were killed and 18 others injured, 12 of them critically, in a bomb blast at a church at Baniarchar village in Gopalganj, home district of the Bangladesh Prime Minister, Ms. Sheikh Hasina, today.

The explosion occurred at about 7-45 a.m. when the members of local Christian community gathered at the Catholic church for Sunday mass.

This is the first attack on the Christian community in Bangladesh, particularly on a church, but no one so far claimed responsibility of the blast.
