MRO-TEK's third facility on stream

CHENNAI, JUNE 6. The Bangalore-based MRO-TEK, networking and last mile access solution provider, has opened its third state-of-the- art manufacturing facility at Electronics City, Bangalore.

The new facility has been put up with an investment of over Rs. 1 crore. With this, the company's productivity will go up by 30 per cent.

The 20,000 sq. ft. floor space will have pick and place machine, automatic-testing machines and will have capacity to manufacture 1,000 units of 64k or 2MB modems per day. This facility will manufacture 64K digital modems, converters, NT-1, 2MB modems.

The facility will operate at 30 per cent capacity this year that will be gradually increased to 60 per cent and the remaining 40 per cent will be kept as redundant capacity. With this facility, delivery efficiency, quick support service and absorption of technology with a capability of indigenising to the extent of 80 per cent will be achieved.

Mr. H. Nandi, Managing Director, MRO-TEK, said ``With our growing product line due to our increasing alliances the need for upgrading technologies became essential and with this new facility this has been taken care of. With this facility in place we would be adding more products to our line apart from already manufacturing line drivers, HDSL modems, 2 MB modems, NT 1's and converters."
