Body of Ajit Jogi's daughter 're-buried'
By Our Staff Correspondent
RAIPUR, JUNE 6. The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Mr. Ajit Jogi,
today ``re-buried'' the body of his daughter, Anusha, at his
ancestral village in Gorella, after exhuming it from a graveyard
in Indore.
The mortal remains of Anusha were re-buried in the compound of
Mr. Jogi's ancestral house in Gorella which falls in the Marwahi
constituency.
Anusha (22) had reportedly committed suicide in Mr. Jogi's
official residence at Indore on May 12 last year because her
parents did not approve of her choice of a groom and wanted her
to marry a boy they had chosen for her.
The incident had taken place while Mr. Jogi, who was then the
Congress spokesperson, was busy with the Congress president, Ms.
Sonia Gandhi's visit to Indore.
Mr. Jogi had been seeking permission for exhuming Anusha's body
for a long time. Now, he got the permission from the Indore
municipality on Tuesday. The body was exhumed late in the night
and flown to Bilaspur in a State plane.
Mr. Jogi and his wife, Ms. Renu Jogi, along with close
associates, took the coffin to Gorella by road where it was ``re-
buried'' after the rituals. While officials were saying that the
Chief Minister was in New Delhi, sources maintained that Mr. Jogi
made an unscheduled visit to Raipur where he held a meeting with
the Collector following which the exhumation was carried out. The
State plane which carried the VIP's returned to the Mana airport
at 1.00 p.m.
