Kanpur riot aftermath
Sir, - I refer to the article, `Kanpur riots - a wakeup call,''
(April 18). The author has perhaps skipped the role of the
Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence's network in India. The ISI
has adopted the latest tactics of promoting communal disharmony
in our country, particularly in those pockets where there is a
large Muslim population and especially among the students and
youth.
The Student's Islamic Movement of India is one such association.
It is the duty of the State Government to make a deep probe into
the matter, especially regarding the financial sources of such
institutions, besides the sources through which illicit arms and
ammunition are made available to such institutions through hawala
and allied agencies, with the ultimate objective of destabilising
our democratic system.
Vishnu Datta Sharma,
Jaipur
