Yunus mourned in native Pak. town
ISLAMABAD, JUNE 18. The death of veteran freedom fighter,
Mohammad Yunus, was mourned by his friends and relatives in his
native town of Peshawar in Pakistan's Northwestern Frontier
Province, a news report today said.
The relatives including his nephew gathered at the ancestral home
in Peshawar and conducted special prayers, The News said.
Yunus died in Delhi yesterday. He migrated to India after
partition and later joined the Indian Foreign Service. He later
emerged as a close friend and confidant of the Nehru family,
specially to the former Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
