Ah, the Taj on a disc

EVERYONE LOVES pictures, and who would not love to have pictures of the Taj to send to friends worldwide?

As plain pictures, as postcards, or as fancy digital imagery. For those who want to acquire 305 exclusive images of the Taj Mahal, there is now a CD. Ifoto rolls out medium resolution images of India's most famous landmark, for use as just about anything - wallpaper, background, post card, e-mail and the like.

The interesting thing is that photographer Srini, (`the lensman') who is otherwise engaged shooting Modern Day icons from Ford, has put together several moods of the Taj, all frozen using a digital camera, colour corrected but not manipulated for effect.

``Everyone likes to send pictures, and the Taj pictures are sure to have appeal globally,'' says P.V. Badrinath, the chief executive of Marito, the company which has launched the series of royalty free photo CD series (Tel: 4849721).

One of the pictures which Srini thinks is the most evocative, has been featured as a blow-up of 20 inches by 30 inches at Spencer Plaza.

The ifoto CD also has a bundled evaluation version browser software, `flipalbum gold 1.1'.

So does the Taj cost the moon? The images come at a price of about Rs. 1.30 each.
