Lillee shortlists 12 trainees
CHENNAI, JUNE 28. Fast bowling guru Dennis Lillee has picked 12
boys to train under him at the MRF Pace Foundation. Lillee said
that these 12, taken from the the 15 players he had shortlisted
during his earlier visit in February, had impressed him the most
and had the potential to blossom into talented bowlers.
The 15 boys were put through endurance and strength programme on
the lines of the Australian cricket academy (ACA). Lillee also
mentioned that Sandy Gordon, a sports psychologist of the ACA and
who works with the Australian cricket board, shared his expertise
on the mental aspects of the game.
Lillee announced the 12 players after the conclusion of his
periodical visit to the academy to select the boys at a clinic
conducted between June 17 and 27.

(Kerala), Sujoy Parul (Bengal), G. Chaitra (Karnataka), Prashanth
Chandran (Kerala), Chandrasekhar Atram (Vidarbha), Baburao Yadav
(Vidarbha), Abhishek Choudhury (Delhi), Harish Puri (Punjab),
Irfan Pathan (Vadodara), K.S. Veeranan (Tamil Nadu) and Avishkar
Salvi (Mumbai).
