Train mishap toll 52

KOZHIKODE, JUNE 29. One more person injured in the Mangalore-
Chennai Mail accident died at the Medical College Hospital here
this morning.
The man who succumbed to the injuries today was N.P. Kumaran
Nambiar (51) of Naringottuparamba at Thuneri near Vadakara. With
this, the death toll in the accident has gone up to 52. Kumaran
Nair's wife and one daughter, who were with him in the train, is
undergoing treatment at the Government Beach Hospital.
A businessman in Chennai, Kumaran Nair and his family were on
their way to Chennai after visiting their aged parents at
Vadakara.
The condition of two more persons undergoing treatment at the
Medical College Hospital, is said to be serious.
Meanwhile, the Chief Safety Commissioner, Mr. R. Rajamani, and
the Safety Commissioner, Mr. P.K. Sen, gathered evidence from
passengers and others at the Kozhikode railway station for the
third day today.
