Both are to blame
Sir, - The recall of the Governor of Tamil Nadu shows the moral
bankruptcy and opportunism of the National Democratic Alliance
Government. One is shocked by Mr. Arun Jaitley's statement to the
press on this issue. After hearing him one wonders whether the
Government has forgotten that India is a federal State. Are
Governors commanders of vassal States? According to Mr. Jaitley,
the Governor failed to report the alleged anti-Centre acts of the
State Government. One should not overlook the fact that there was
resistance to police action and the police have to perform their
duties. The fact that there is so much TV coverage of the
incident shows that events are not entirely onesided.
P. Isaac Prabhakar,
Vijayawada
