IBM completes acquisition of Informix

CHENNAI: IBM has completed its $1 billion acquisition of the database assets of Informix Corporation. The acquisition doubles the size of IBM's distributed database business. Informix Corporation will now be renamed as Ascential Software Corporation. The acquisition has been completed just ten weeks after it was announced on April 24.
