Big narcotics haul

GANDHINAGAR, JULY 10. A huge quantum of brown sugar worth about
Rs. 35 crores in the international market was seized by the
police near Matar in Kaira district in Gujarat.
The Minister of State for Home, Mr. Haren Pandya, said the police
intercepted a truck on prior information that about 35 kg of
brown sugar was being transported in the vehicle. The truck was
coming from Barmer in Rajasthan and destined to go to Mumbai.
Mr. Pandya said the jute bag containing the narcotics was hidden
behind the driver's cabin in the truck with the inscription
``Pakistan'' in Urdu.
