Geometric licenses proprietary technology

CHENNAI: Geometric Software Solutions Company has announced the launch of SolidWorks Utilities, a product developed by Geometric for SolidWorks. Geometric will license its geometric utilities technology, on an exclusive basis to SolidWorks Corp., until the third quarter of next year, according to a company release. SolidWorks Corporation, a Dassault Systems S.A. develops and markets mechanical design software solutions.

VTU ties up with IBM

CHENNAI: A memorandum of understanding was signed between Visveswaraiah Technological University (VTU), Karnataka and IBM India Limited to provide IBM University Program - a unique strategic initiative between IBM and reputed institutions to increase the availability of skills on IBM software technologies. The IBM University Program enables all colleges affiliated to the VTU to incorporate educational programs on IBM software technologies to support the main course curriculum, electives or projects, within the framework of the university syllabus, according to press release from IBM.

DSQ signs MoU with LG-EDS

CHENNAI: DSQ Software has signed an MoU with LG-EDS, a leading software solutions provider headquartered at Seoul and part of LG, the second largest Korean Chaebol. The understanding will enable LG-EDS to access the world market through DSQ's global marketing network and will in turn allow DSQ to use its partners knowhow and expertise in winning orders in a competitive climate, according to a press release from DSQ Software. LG-EDS has a client base of over 1,400 in Korea and overseas.

GE Fanuc's facility in Bangalore

CHENNAI: GE Fanuc, a leading supplier of factory and process automation solutions, has announced the opening of its state-of- the art facility at Electronics City in Bangalore. Mr. Lorrie Norrington, president and CEO of GE Fanuc Automation N.A. inaugurated the facility, according to a company release. GE Fanuc is a joint venture between GE and Fanuc Ltd. of Japan.

Antarix to offer solutions to SMEs

CHENNAI: Antarix e Applications launched ``myTurboChain'' a supply chain execution solution. Convergent Software, the Bangalore-based software and technology provider, has developed the application and Antarix would be offering it on the Application Service Provider (ASP) mode to its clients worldwide. The service will allow small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to access the benefits of an integrated supply chain without investing in costly software and hardware, according to a company release.
