Indian immigrant shot dead in New York
NEW YORK, JULY 23. An Indian immigrant was shot dead by a group
to whom he offered a ride home after their car had broken down,
police said. Mr. Rupinder Singh, 26, pleaded with them to
spare his life, but he was shot as he had seen the two attackers
faces, according to an assailant who was nabbed by the police.
Asked why they killed him when he was acting a good samaritan,
Chief Detective, Mr. William Allee, said, ``because they were
monsters.''
The assailant reportedly told the police that an accomplice, two
women and a child, found themselves stranded on the road as their
car broke down. Mr. Singh who was on his way home, offered them a
lift, the assailant said, adding that on the way the accomplice
pulled out a gun on Mr. Singh.
