Rupee loses ground
MUMBAI, JULY 25. The rupee lost moderate ground against the U.S.
currency today on late dollar demand from banks in fairly active
trading at the inter-bank foreign exchange market.
Posting a closing quote of 47.14/15 a dollar, the rupee declined
by around 2-1/2 paise from the overnight level of 47.1200/1250,
pulled down by fresh dollar demand from corporates and importers,
dealers said. The Indian unit opened at 47.12/13 and moved in a
range of 47.1250 and 47.1500.
