Jayalalithaa's letter under consideration, says Krishna

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, AUG. 8. The Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr. S.M. Krishna, today refrained from commenting on the Centre's decision to post three Tamil Nadu cadre IPS officers with the Union Government, a move opposed by the State.

On his Government's response to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms. Jayalalithaa's letter on the issue, Mr. Krishna said, ``the letter is being considered by us and as soon as the response is ready it will be conveyed.''

On whether the State Government considered the move an attack on the federal structure, he said Karnataka was second to none in advocating the true spirit of federalism but at the same time it would have to be looked at in overall perspective.
