Indian think-tank denies any rift
COLOMBO, AUG. 8. The Indian team-management, skipper Sourav
Ganguly, vice-captain Rahul Dravid and coach John Wright, meeting
the Indian media soon after the conclusion of the first day's
play in the game against Board XI, denied there was any rift in
the side.
``It is not true, it is not good for the team and I think it
should stop,'' said Ganguly on reports suggesting there were
differences between him and Dravid.
On his part Dravid revealed, ``There are no problems between
Sourav and me.'' He added Ganguly had never said anything adverse
to him personally about his captaincy.
Wright said the think-tank was united in its request to the
selectors regarding the changes for the Test series. The coach
was dismissive of those reports suggesting otherwise.
``I have backed everybody, I don't back anybody in particular,''
shot back Ganguly when asked whether he had a preference for
certain players. He also said none from the BCCI had spoken to
him till now regarding his on-field behavior.
