Ghouse, Manoj bow out
NEW DELHI, AUG. 8. National champion Mustafa Ghouse went down 2-
6, 2-6 to Luke Bourgeois of Australia in the first round of the
$15,000 ITF Futures tennis tournament in Bath, Britain.
The 836th-ranked Mustafa could not showcase his ability despite
his opponent being ranked 890.
In doubles, Mustafa is partnering Giuseppe Menga of Italy. The
Indo-Italian duo should fancy its chances in the first round
clash against Graeme Darlington of Britain and Anton Klaric of
Australia.
Meanwhile, Manoj Mahadevan lost 5-7, 1-6 to Andres Pedroso of the
US in the first round of the $15,000 ITF Futures tournament in
Godfrey, Illinois.
The other two Indians in the singles main draw, Harsh Mankad and
qualifier Vikrant Chadha have not yet played their matches.
However, in doubles, Vikrant partnering Harsh, went down 6-7 (4-
7), 7-6 (7-4), 4-6 to fourth-seeded Peter Luczak of Australia and
Chris Magyary of the US in the first round.
Manoj has not played his first round doubles as yet.
